Eagle Cap Wilderness

Cove is the western gateway to the stunning Eagle Cap Wilderness. Visitors wishing to access the wilderness through the popular Moss Springs Trailhead can only get there by traveling through Cove.

The Eagle Cap Wilderness is nestled in the heart of the majestic Wallowa Mountains, which rise to peaks of over 10,000 feet. The wilderness encompasses 360,000 acres of high alpine lakes and meadows, granite-faced mountains, glaciated valleys, and pristine rivers and streams. There are over 500 miles of hiking and riding trails in the wilderness maintained by the National Forest Service.
